Víctor M. Rivera Rivera

Víctor M. Rivera Rivera is a community law attorney with over 24 years of experience as a solo practitioner and Administrative Law Judge, specializing in special education and disability law. He participates in the Puerto Rico Legal Services Corporation’s Private Attorney Involvement Program.

DR. TAMRU BELAY

Founder and promoter of Ethiopia’s first Adaptive Technology Center for the Blind (ATCB), spending 26 years leading the Adaptive Technology Programe and providing ICT services to the blind community. Since 2003, he has also operated a part-time consulting business specializing in adaptive technology and accessible website design for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Daniela Marghitu

Dr. Daniela Marghitu earned her B.S. in Automation and Computing from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and her Ph.D. in the same field from the University of Craiova. A faculty member in Auburn University’s Computer Science and Software Engineering Department since 1996, she has taught a wide range of Information Technology and Computing courses, including Assistive and Accessible Computing, Object-Oriented Programming, Network Programming, Web Development and Design, Spreadsheet Applications with Visual BASIC, and Web Application Development with XML and JSP.

Agda Cordero Murillo

Professor of Computer Science at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón since 1987. Taught courses in Introductory Computer Science, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Simulations, Systems Analysis and Design, Web design and programming, Mobile app development, among others, plus Statistics and Algebra. Principal Investigator in the National Science Foundation sponsored Increasing Student Success in STEM (ISSS) Grant. Director of the Natural Sciences Department at Sagrado from August 2013 until December 2017.

Eilidh Morrison

Eilidh Morrison is a Blind Physicist, a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament, and a member of the RNIB. Through her work, she campaigns for increased accessibility and awareness for young blind and visually impaired people.


Dr. Takao Watanabe

Dr. Takao Watanabe earned his master’s degree in solid-state physics from Keio University in March 1983 and joined Hitachi’s Central Research Laboratory in April 1983. In 1988, he earned a scholarship from Hitachi to study at Yale University, where he obtained a master’s degree in 1989, focusing on artificial intelligence, image processing, and semiconductor design. He became a senior researcher at Hitachi in 1995. Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa in 1997, he gradually lost his vision but continued his research with Hitachi’s support. In 1999, he earned a Ph.D. from Keio University for work on high-speed, low-power semiconductors for AI and computer graphics. He received a patent award in 2000 for circuit technology accelerating DRAM. In 2016, he won the Best Paper Award from The Society of Photography and Imaging of Japan for research on recording ukiyo-e prints on quartz glass readable after heating at 1000°C. In 2020, he received the MIP Award from 'isee! Working Awards' by Next Vision. He retired from Hitachi in April 2018 but continued as a senior employee until July 2023. Currently, he is a member of a volunteer group, 'I-mirai' and a supporting member of NPO 'Turtle', helping people with disabilities continue working. His dream is to create a website for visually impaired Japanese science and engineering researchers to share information and tools they develop.
